Welcome to The Traveling Scientist. I’m a PhD student in Biomechanics, studying at Penn State University. My research interests focus on joint function and mechanics, specifically applied to orthopedic applications. My PhD topic is still being fine-tuned, but I am currently working on how total ankle replacements change the joint mechanics. With this blog, I’ll give you an insight into my PhD journey – from thesis writing to new skills learned, from summaries of talks given by visiting scholars to reviews of my conference experiences. I hope my experiences are helpful to those thinking of following this path and become a useful resource for disseminating biomechanics research to the masses!
